Bringing gold to Pakistan from Saudi Arabia
Pakistan allows incoming passengers to carry personal gold jewellery in reasonable, non-commercial quantities under the FBR baggage rules. On the Saudi route the additional consideration is Umrah and Hajj traffic, where returning pilgrims frequently carry gifted jewellery and are asked about it.
Personal jewellery versus trade stock
Worn or plainly personal jewellery in ordinary amounts is treated as baggage. Identical multiples, unworn boxed stock, coins and bars are assessed as an import with duty and possible penalty.
Bullion is not covered by personal-jewellery treatment. Saudi souks sell bars readily; carrying them to Pakistan is an import question, not a baggage question.
Umrah and Hajj travellers
Gifted jewellery collected during a pilgrimage is common and is not a problem in personal quantities, but it is exactly the pattern officers look at. Keep receipts where gifts were purchased, and be ready to say plainly what is yours.
Group travel does not pool allowances. Each passenger is assessed individually, and carrying another traveller's gold is a bad idea.
Saudi departure rules
Saudi Arabia does not restrict personal jewellery leaving, but cash and bearer instruments above the declaration threshold must be declared to Saudi Customs on departure.
Keep the tax invoice showing karat, weight, making charge and VAT. It is the strongest document you can carry into a Pakistani red channel.
On arrival in Pakistan
Use the red channel where there is any doubt. Declaration costs a conversation; non-declaration risks seizure plus penalty.
Carry gold in hand baggage — hold liability and insurance cover are both minimal.
