About SarafaGold
SarafaGold publishes the Pakistani gold board rate — the Karachi Sarafa benchmark — with the arithmetic shown, the sources named, and no attempt to dress a derived figure up as a local quote. This page explains who publishes it and the rules the site holds itself to.
What this site is
SarafaGold is an independent reference site for gold prices in Pakistan. It exists because the rate most Pakistani families need — one tola of 22K, today, in rupees — is published across dozens of sites with no stated source, no stated time and no stated method.
Every figure here traces back to a named source and a published formula. Where a genuine local quote does not exist, the site says so and shows the benchmark with a stated spread rather than inventing a city-specific number.
Who writes it
Rate pages are maintained by the SarafaGold rates desk, which is responsible for the data pipeline, the published formula and the review stamps on every editorial page.
Editorial pages covering customs, remittance and tax rules carry a review date. Those pages state rules as they are published by the relevant authority — FBR, the State Bank of Pakistan, HMRC, US CBP, the UAE FTA and ZATCA — and link to them rather than paraphrasing from memory.
What this site does not do
SarafaGold does not buy, sell, trade, broker or value gold, and holds no relationship with any jeweller, dealer or sarafa association. No jeweller pays to appear on a city page.
Nothing on the site is investment advice. We do not publish buy or sell opinions, price forecasts or targets. Gold prices in rupees are driven by international spot and the rupee exchange rate, and anyone claiming to know where either is heading is guessing.
Corrections
If a rate, a rule or a market description on this site is wrong, we want to fix it quickly. Write to the address on the contact page with the URL and what is incorrect, and we will correct it and note the change in the review stamp.
Rate pages are refreshed continuously and carry the capture time on the board. Editorial pages carry a last-reviewed date; where a page depends on rules that change, it also states the review cadence.
